Sun’s Out (?), Fun’s Out!
As we head into the final month of the school year, June is packed with fun events (and much wind), celebrations, rain, and opportunities to get involved in our school community! Thank you to all the families, staff, and volunteers who have helped make this year such a success. We couldn’t do it without you!
Upcoming June Events
June 2 — School Council & Society AGM 
6:30 PM- School Library & Online
Join us for our Annual General Meeting as we wrap up the year, vote in new members, maybe have cupcakes (?), and look ahead to next year. We are always looking for new parents and caregivers to get involved — every little bit helps, and fresh ideas are always welcome!
Council open positions:
Communications Coordinators (ideally 2): Help keep families informed by updating school signs monthly and sharing important school and Alberta Education updates in a simple, manageable role.
Sage Hill Community Association Liaison: Help connect our school with the Sage Hill Community Association to strengthen community relationships and share local opportunities.
Society open positions:
Vice President: Support the president and help society run smoothly while being part of a positive, team-focused school community.
Casino Coordinators (Ideally 2): One of our most important roles — help coordinate our once-every-two-years casino fundraiser that brings in up to $90,000 for the school with only minimal paperwork and planning involved.
Read-a-thon Coordinator: Coordinate one of our simplest and most successful school fundraisers that encourages reading with support from Society.
Dance Coordinator: Help organize a fun school dance for students and families with support from society.
Movie Night Coordinator: Coordinate, with support from society, a relaxed and fun movie night event that brings families together at the school
*Note: All positions, even those that are currently held/have nominations, are open to EVERYONE.
Council: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Volunteer Coordinator, Communications Coordinators, Hawkwood & Sage Hill Community Association Liaisons, Board Member.
Society: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Casino coordinators, Fundraising Coordinators (can be broken up into: read-a-thon coordinator, dance coordinator, movie night coordinator), Fun Lunch Coordinators, Communications Duo, Directors at Large.
June 11- Stampede Breakfast
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM - School Grounds
Yeehaw! The Hawkwood Stampede Breakfast is back and we can’t wait to celebrate with our school community.

June 23rd — Sports Day, Fun Lunch & Family Picnic
Get ready for a day full of school spirit, outdoor fun, and community connection! Come & join your kid(s) for a mega outdoor picnic during lunch (order yourself a meal from the fun lunch link!).

June 25 — Grade 5 & 6 Farewell Celebration (School Gym 10am - Grade 5, 2pm - Grade 6)
A special congratulations to our Grade 5 & 6 students as they celebrate this important milestone! We wish all of our graduating students the very at their new schools — we know they will do amazing things.
